The fall semester is coming to an end, and TANN is busy getting ready for the spring semester. If there are any classes that you would like to get students enrolled in, we do still have room. Just contact us to let us know!
In the past few months, TANN has hosted two annual events:
November 5th, 2008 - 8th Grade Technology Career Day - Lifelong Learning Center, Northeast Community College Campus
This event went extremely well this year, and the students loved it! There were 15 different booths that had presenters from various businesses here in Norfolk, as well as departments from Northeast Community College. They showcased their field and career opportunities within that field. There were also a lot of hands-on projects that they had prepared for the kids.
December 6th, 2008 - Robotics Competition - Lifelong Learning Center, Northeast Community College Campus
On December 6th, the first of three Robotics competitions for the 2008-2009 school year was held at Northeast Community College in the Lifelong Learning Center. The competition was very tough, but area high school and college teams stepped up to the challenge! The next Robotics competition will be held on March 28, 2009 at Wayne State College.
We hope that all of our partner schools have a great holiday season and great start to the next semester! If you would like to be involved with any of the events listed above, or you just have questions, please contact Nancy Mawson, TANN Director, at (402) 844-7659 or e-mail to
