Pender Public Schools is a system that serves students in grades PK-12 with
a total student enrollment of 346. The
teachers are a veteran staff made up of 30 certified staff members. Among those staff members the average number
of years taught is 19 years and the average number of years taught in the
Pender school district is 12.5 years. This gives our students a tremendous staff from which to be instructed
and taught.
Students in the district are high quality kids that strive to be excellent
in every endeavor upon which they choose to embark. There is a wide range of opportunities for
students in Pender of which to take advantage. Pender has a curriculum that is approved by the Nebraska Department of
Education. The curriculum is aimed at
providing students with the necessary skills to succeed in any path they choose
to take when they are finished with school in Pender.
Pender’s students are also able to participate in many extra curricular
activities that aid in the educational process. Pender has a number of athletic activities including football, cross
country, golf, basketball, wrestling, track, and dance. There are also a number of other activities
to be part of including band, choir, one-act play, musical production, FFA,
National Honor Society, and Student Council to name a few.
Pender Public schools is driven by a mission that was created to be the
guiding factor for all things done at the school. The mission reads: To promote and support
multicultural education within Pender Public Schools, it shall be the policy
and practice of this district to create opportunities for all students to
achieve academically and socially in an educational environment in which all
students and staff understand and respect the racial and cultural diversity and
interdependence of members of our society.
By following this as a guideline, we hope that the experiences we are able
to provide lead students to a successful life after the completion of the
education.
